Mineral-finish flat roofsFlat roofing done the way it should be.
Our flat roofs are built on proven systems: a three-layer torch-on felt with a mineral cap sheet, or a single-piece EPDM rubber membrane. Both give dependable waterproofing and long service life when they're installed properly, and that's where we come in.
We prepare the deck correctly, bond every layer fully and detail edges, upstands and outlets with care, because that's where flat roofs usually fail.

Felt or rubber? Here's the honest comparison.
Both are excellent when installed properly. The right choice depends on your roof, budget and how you use the space. We'll recommend one when we visit.
| Compare | Torch-on feltThree-layer system | EPDM rubberSingle-ply membrane |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Three layers of bitumen felt torch-bonded to the deck, finished with a mineral cap sheet. | A single sheet of synthetic EPDM rubber, fully bonded to the deck. |
| Typical lifespan | 10 to 20 years with proper care. | A long-life membrane, often 20+ years when installed and detailed correctly. |
| Joins | Overlapping layers, each fully bonded for maximum protection. | Usually one piece across the whole roof, so very few seams. |
| Finish | Choice of mineral colours and finishes to suit the property. | Clean, matt black finish. |
| Maintenance | Periodic inspection; the cap sheet resists UV and heat. | Minimal. Keep outlets clear and check the edges. |
| Great for | Extensions, garages, dormers and commercial roofs. | Extensions, garages and roofs with rooflights, where seams are a worry. |

The same few words keep coming up in our reviews: clean, polite, on time and to a high standard. Here they are, in our customers' own words.
Excellent from start to finish. From initial contact LDM instilled confidence, from turning up when promised for the initial quote to returning after the scaffolding was removed to clean up.
Questions we're often asked.
Can't see your question? Call us on 01942 316332. We're always happy to talk a roof through.
Is felt or rubber better for a flat roof?
Both are excellent when installed properly. Torch-on felt is robust and comes in a choice of finishes; EPDM rubber is a single seamless sheet with very low maintenance. We'll recommend the best fit after seeing your roof.
How long does a flat roof take to replace?
Most domestic flat roofs, such as garages and extensions, take a day or two, weather permitting. Larger or commercial roofs take longer. We'll give you a clear timeframe with your quote.
Can you replace the flat roof on my garage or extension?
Yes. Garages, extensions, dormers and bay roofs are among the most common flat roofs we replace.
